ENERTRAG is a leading company in the field of renewable energies in Germany and worldwide. With extensive expertise in the development, construction and operation of integrated energy plants from wind and solar power, as well as a wide range of plants owned by the company, the company generates over 2 terawatt hours of electricity annually from its own plants.

A dedicated team of more than 1,000 employees drives projects with a capacity of over 15 gigawatts in nine countries and pursues a holistic approach to integrated power plants, including wind, photovoltaic and electrolysis plants as well as grid infrastructure. The company’s core objective is to efficiently generate, combine and deliver renewable energy to customers worldwide.

Project name: Eastern Germany Electrolysis Corridor

Locations: 2 sites in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg

  • 185 MW electrolysis → 16,500 tonnes of hydrogen a year
  • Three hydrogen filling stations
  • Wind power and photovoltaic systems

CO2 saving: 135,000 tonnes a year

  • Commission 2027

In order to produce sufficient green hydrogen, electrolysers must be built on a large scale – and therefore plants that supply the required renewable electricity. ENERTRAG is doing both. The two electrolysis sites are located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt and form a transnational corridor along the doing hydrogen pipeline. The most important customer for the hydrogen is the Concrete Chemicals subproject at the Rüdersdorf site.

„Renewable energy needs hydrogen as a universal storage medium in order to balance generation and consumption. The development of a sustainable hydrogen infrastructure depends entirely on the consistent expansion of renewables. Eastern Germany offers the best conditions for this, which we must exploit as quickly as possible.“
